OK ..my 2 cents here . being the father of 7 and seeing what my kids have gone through and are going through . I believe that kids now have it harder in some respects that we did and have it easer in others. we didn't have computers readily available to us in high school , while my children carry laptops from class to class. WOW lap tops who would have thought . I think that the schools need to stop charging a school fee though this isn't collage our kids went back to school yesterday in Tenn. and they are loving the modified year round school schedule. they dont get board in the summer and it keeps them intrested. The one thing i never thought i would see is teachers walking out of a class and quitting on the spot. it has happened several times last year . That hurts the kids and makes things very hard on them having to start over with a new teacher . The one thing that bothers me as a father is all the security at the schools i know it is there to protect the children , but i can only remember one time that we had security (if you wanted to call it that) in elementary school all the teachers were given keys to the school and told to keep the doors locked . this was after a girl was killed not to far from medow park elementary.

I don't know if I've ever spent a more memorable weekend before....really!

Thank you to the committee for the hard work in putting the reunion together....it was certainly worth a trip from my corner of the world.

What a wonderful reunion. Thank you to all of the organizers, especially for you opening it up to the 1985 and 1986 classes! That made all the difference for me!! It was a pleasure to catch up with so many people I haven't seen in 23-25 years. Many I remember, many I didn't (sorry!). I look forward to seeing some of you again when I visit PC. (I come every year around x-mas or spring break!)

I can't believe ANYONE had the nerve to complain after all of the hard work that went into the weekend's events.. if you truly think you could have done a better job.. then we invite you to step up for our 30 year reunion. Somehow I don't see it happenin..

With any events, there are bumps in the road, but there isn't any reason to complain.. the only thing that should be offered up is thanks..

Thanks everyone for all the hard work organizing this wonderful reunion and to your families who allowed us to take you away form time spent with them. I really appreciated opening up your 25 year reunion to 1985 and 1986, everyone made it seem like one big group of friends. Thank you Sue for taking on the challenge of having us over to your beautiful home on Sunday. Thank God we're grown up now.

In 2005 we had a great reunion and the much work that goes into it is often overlooked.

For all of you who have made our reunions for the past 25 years special and memoriable THAAAANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Fabulous Weekend ! Could not have ask for better friends and families to get together to celebrate 25 yrs of memories. We re-connected with old friends made some new ones.. Shared great memories and have created new ones. Not only the hard work that went into the planning and success of this weekend - BUT all of you that made the effort to attend. Traveling with families and costly flights so I commend you !

After all is said and done...It was my pleasure to work on this all year to have it turn out the way it did...It was well worth it!!!

On the flip side...NO REST FOR ME....I've neglected the house chores for the past 2 weeks so this week I am the house slave....ugh...lol

Thanks to all of you that made this reunion a blast to work on and we really missed those who couldn't make it here for the reunion. I will be working on the possibility of a yearly beach event for those who are down here...but in the mean time we will do something the weekend of Homecoming (as soon as I find out when in October) There won't be a charge for any of that weekend as you all will be on your own, but we can figure out together as classmates where we would like to tailgate and meet after the game and a possible Saturday meet after the beach or ????

Right on Chris! Thanks Leslie, Sherry, Cindy and Sue! Thank you for all the hard work, time you took from your families, personal treasure you spent on this event, and opening your homes for meetings! Sue, thank you for your hospitality, it was a beautifully relaxing day! Loved the 84 sign!!!

I really enjoyed working with you all. I was impressed from the first meeting with all that you had planned for this wonderful weekend, the amount of work you all had already done! If anyone thinks this was a simple task, needs to take it on the next time!

I also found it very disturbing (keeping in mind that all the core members of the reunion team,< Leslie,Sherry, Cindy and Sue> all have jobs and families to raise) that those who complained the most about this weekend, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help in making this weekend a complete success. I know first hand, that everything they did(core members), they did with much thought and planning, keeping in mind a decent budget to make this affordable to everyone, even to the point of having funds available to help those who couldn't. To those who complained, (you know who you are) step up to the plate next time instead of telling others how you would've done it or where you would have it (blah blah blah). I think you will find that it's not that easy. It is time to seriously grow up! I have found, having a chronic illness, that life is too short to be miserable or constantly complaining or living in your past. I also refuse to allow people like this to make me feel any less important because I wasn't in the "IN" crowd. It didn't matter than and definitely doesn't now.

Again, A BIG THANKS for all you have done to make this a very memorable weekend for all!!!! You all are AWESOME!!

WOW what a weekend

This weekend was the greatest event i have ever been to.

Friday was great ,but the music was a wee bit to loud and it was a wee bit crowded.but it was great to be amoung friends and other aquaintances,some people made out like bandits durin the drawings,i wish i would have bought more tickets!

Saturday was excellent, the food was great, and being a "formal" dinner , it showed how good us guys "clean-up"we were all "dressed to impress" and ready to have fun.

Sunday (family fun day)was the most fun i have had (with my clothes on at least)in a long time, my son spent so much time in the pool and the water slide,i think he will be water logged for a long time.even my finiky daughter found a few people she can now call friends, Sue did a FANTASTIC job hosting this event,and i hope she takes a couple of days off from her work to rest and de-compress.

everyone on the committee did a OUTSTANDING job,it was a formidible acheivement,and i think it set the high water mark for the class of 85 to try and beat.

now ,who is going to be the first committee member for the class of 85 ????

I can't wait to write John a note in the "Class" card. If it has not yet been purchased, Leslie, let me know and I'll buy it. It's a wonderful idea and I think very important to follow through with it. If you need the postage to send it, give it to me and I'll make sure it goes out (saving the reunion funds for scholarships). I will be happy to pay for it!

I think that our kids are going through the same things we did, with the exceptions of being taught tolerance of other people's lifestyles. Granted, I never worried about guns being brought into the school and such, but I think PCHS is much safer than its counterparts in larger towns/cities. My biggest worry was getting into trouble for wearing too short shorts/skirts and flip-flops being outlawed. ;o)

We just teach our kids to be aware, not to be afraid, and to care about everyone equally. I am proud of my girls (one graduated from PCHS last month and one beginning her PCHS career next month), I feel certain that they will find our/their school no more or less difficult than when we attended. I, sincerely, hope that they will always fight for what's right and for the underdogs ... like many of OUR classmates have expressed they wish they had done more of.

It is my hope that Steve Dionisio continues to promoted academic excellence, tempered with tolerance and kindness to others. The rest falls on us as parents and role models. {it still freaks me out to be considered a role model, hahaha}. But it's a great job to have and our next generation of leaders from PCHS will be better than we were ... because we can share our experiences and be understanding of theirs.

Mary and I are staying at the old holiday inn in PG, which is now a best western I think.

I'm not sure if the class of '89 is having an event at the same time, but when I called they kept saying class of '89.. and I kept sayin, no it's the class of '84. But whatever.. they gave me a group rate of $79 per night for a king on the waterside.

Would love to have other people stayin there too.. the contact information on the hotels page here is the person I spoke to.. She did mention that the group rate was closed but she had some rooms or something. So, give it a try if you like.. they have a restaurant on site with room service available.. and We'll be there starting thursday night.

Just so you know...the hotel is beautiful! I am not sure if you remember Suzanne Shoup Thomann, but she works there.

The roof top view is gorgeous...It doesn't even look like Punta Gorda from the rooftop bar/pool area.

Can't wait to see everyone too!

Hi Liz,

I was going to stay at Days Inn then they moved the location for Saturday night. I have made a reservation at the Wyvern which is a little pricey. I would love to stay where the group is staying so let me know I will change my reservation. Can't wait to see everyone.

I sometimes wish I knew what I know now when I was in high school. But would I want to go back to being 17 and change anything? Not at all. Every decision I made, every circumstance I went through, and every relationship I created, both good and bad, has made me into the person I am today. And I am very happy with who I am.
